In step with the times and its users

In 1946, the School of Economics and Business welcomed its first generation of students. Today, it is Slovenia’s leading educational and research institution in the fields of economics and business, as well as an internationally recognized school that meets the highest quality standards in business and economics education. Its mission—to broaden horizons and equip individuals to tackle business and economic challenges—is also reflected in the redesigned website.

A comprehensive renovation for new generations

As emphasized by Tanja Gvozdenović, the project lead, at the presentation of the redesigned website, the goal was not merely to update the site but to ensure that users would have a pleasant experience while searching for the information they need. The search is therefore clear, simple, and intuitive. Improved navigation, an efficient search engine, and better interlinking of content provide an excellent user experience. Special attention was also given to making key information accessible to all users, across all devices.

Between tradition and the future

The design concept combines the guidelines of the University of Ljubljana’s new visual identity while also introducing original design solutions. In addition to the University’s bright red as the primary color, we added a darker shade of red to the palette, representing a link to the architectural character of the School of Economics and Business. The University’s bright red is used for details and highlights, while the darker red dominates larger color areas. On buttons, the two colors transition into one another when hovered over with a mouse. Similarly, subtle animations—such as the slight enlargement of images—contribute to a modern and dynamic experience.

The academic environment through the lens

Modern and relaxed photographs of students and young people—the main visitors of the website—add the finishing touch to the site. The photos were taken on the faculty premises and reflect its unique architecture with dark red tones and the green surroundings of the atrium. Through vibrant storytelling, they capture the distinctive rhythm of student life.

“If I were asked again whether we really want to have 30 section editors, I would say: Absolutely yes. In addition to their regular work, our newly appointed editors also took on all the content in their respective fields. And they did an excellent job! We were greatly supported by the constant assistance of the Innovatif team, who helped us with advice and the introduction of additional elements. Right after the launch, the entire editorial process became completely smooth and self-explanatory.”
