Design of the To sem jaz guidebooks
As part of the youth mental health program To sem jaz, we have developed several educational publications over the years. The guidebooks for adolescents provide support in recognizing and managing emotional challenges in a clear and interactive way, while encouraging a positive self-image and strengthening social skills. The handbook for teachers and professionals serves as a valuable resource for preventive work with young people.

Always here for you – online counselling service
Tosemjaz.net is the largest and oldest online counselling service for adolescents in Slovenia. It has received multiple awards and has been recognized as a best-practice example both nationally and internationally.
We have supported the visibility and recognition of the To sem jaz program since its early beginnings—developing its comprehensive visual identity and designing and launching the website, where young people can receive professional answers to their questions.
Help between the lines – interactive guidebooks
High-quality guidebooks are not just a collection of information – they are a tool that enables users to acquire knowledge quickly and effectively. The guidebooks we designed within the To sem jaz project are part of a broader preventive program established in 2001 at the National Institute of Public Health. In addition to online counselling, it also includes school workshops and professional support. The guidebooks are primarily intended for adolescents, as well as for teachers and school counsellors in their preventive work in schools.
A trusted source of information and self-help
Visually appealing and stylistically distinctive publications are available in digital form via an online platform, enabling easy access to additional resources and interactive content. Convenient QR codes lead to audio and video materials, allowing young people to more easily and immediately apply relaxation and self-help techniques, as well as other useful digital resources. Vibrant color accents, modern illustrations by Matevž Bervar, infographics, visual effects, and a clear structure with thoughtfully highlighted key content and practical exercises support reader engagement and improve understanding of the material.
The guideboook “What Can I Do to Make It Easier?” has also been upgraded with an interactive online course that offers young people concrete ways of coping in moments of distress.
"Designing guidebooks is more than just laying out text – it’s about creating a complete experience that blends functionality with visual appeal. Their purpose is to convey knowledge and practical guidance, which is why it is essential that they are thoughtfully structured, clear, and aesthetically refined. Since the To sem jaz guidebooks are primarily intended for young people, it is even more important that they are also interactive.”
Consistent use of the visual identity across all channels is key to strengthening the project’s recognition and building trust in it. A professional, content-rich, and well-designed guidebook not only informs but also motivates and enables the practical application of knowledge. Through thoughtful design, we increase reader engagement, reduce cognitive load, and help ensure that the message achieves its intended purpose.
