Welcome to SilverStripe City!

We first brought the StripeCon conference to Ljubljana in 2016 in cooperation with the New Zealand company SilverStripe, and after eight years, in September 2024, we once again welcomed web developers from around the world to Ljubljana. The even richer program of the 11th international conference, held at the picturesque Ljubljana Castle and also accessible online, impressed not only IT professionals but also a wider audience.

The first day of the event was marked by best practices and tips on using the SilverStripe content management system. Experts presented new features and offered a glimpse into upcoming developments. The day concluded with a party in the castle’s wine cellar. The second day offered plenty of insights for website editors, regardless of the platform, as well as marketing professionals. The program was enriched with engaging and relevant topics that reached beyond primarily developer-focused content.

Dr. Matej Kovačič from the Jožef Stefan Institute revealed how advertising has become a tool of control. Coach Denis Čahuk presented strategies for creating more satisfied development teams and clients. David Burke from the UK agency Biff Bang Pow illustrated through his personal story how a passion project can grow into a great business opportunity. Our own Tea Gobec from Innovatif shared tips for navigating the turbulent sea of technological trends. To conclude the vibrant conference, Maša Malovrh from Beletrina highlighted why accessibility of online content for all user groups should be about more than just legislation.

The atmosphere at the event was once again excellent, as many faces who usually meet only through screens came together in person. The thoughtful mix of technical content and broader digital topics created opportunities for experts from different fields to connect and explore new solutions. With all the fresh perspectives and ideas, the future of the SilverStripe system looks bright — and we can’t wait to see what it brings.
